2D
2D Ultrasound scans introduce you to your baby in a simple 2-dimensional form. It gives you proof of the life living inside of you as well as being used to look for early signs of any diagnostic abnormalities and your baby's growth parameters in order to see if your baby is healthy and developing normally. NT Down syndrome & Anomaly scans are done.
3D
3D Ultrasounds produce their image by piecing together multiple 2D images taken at different angles, and it is carried out in the same manner as 2D scanning (ie. by placing the transducer on the abdomen). This scan crafts a 3-dimensional image of your baby's details.
4D
4D Ultrasounds adds the 4th dimension of "time", allowing you to view your baby in real-time, moving and turning. In some instances, fortunate parents-to-be, may catch a glimpse of their baby yawning, stretching or smiling. This may help you get a better idea of what your baby will look like.
